                                                           Anti Mullerian Hormone Test The  Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) Test  measures the level of Anti-Mullerian hormone in the blood.   It is present in the reproductive organs of both male and female. The level of hormone depends on both the gender and age. The AMH  plays a major role in the development of sex organs in the unborn baby and it determines whether the baby is a male (XY) or female (XX). Male babies usually have a higher level of AMH for preventing the growth of female reproductive organs and female babies produce only lower levels of AMH. This is a reverse case after the puberty of the female, that is, once the menstrual cycle starts, the granulosa cells in the ovaries produce AMH. The higher the eggs present in the ovary, the higher the AMH is produced. Imbalance in the AMH can lead to irregularity in the menstrual cycle and Infertility conditions.
