                                                           Anti Mullerian Hormone Test

The Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) Test measures the level of Anti-Mullerian hormone in the blood. It is present in the reproductive organs of both male and female. The level of hormone depends on both the gender and age. The AMH  plays a major role in the development of sex organs in the unborn baby and it determines whether the baby is a male (XY) or female (XX). Male babies usually have a higher level of AMH for preventing the growth of female reproductive organs and female babies produce only lower levels of AMH.

This is a reverse case after the puberty of the female, that is, once the menstrual cycle starts, the granulosa cells in the ovaries produce AMH. The higher the eggs present in the ovary, the higher the AMH is produced. Imbalance in the AMH can lead to irregularity in the menstrual cycle and Infertility conditions.

At present, due to many changes in the factors of lifestyle and in the unhealthy food intake, there are much imbalance in the productivity of AMH which majorly leads to the Infertility condition.

Generally, this condition before the pregnancy process is called PCOS(Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). This condition is usually diagnosed by the Ultrasound which shows the antral follicle count in each ovaries.

But Scientists have found that Serum Anti Mullerian Hormone can be used as a biomarker to predict the menstrual disturbance due to PCOS and have concluded that the actual risk in the PCOS can be evaluated using this test.

If the AMH levels are low, some of the natural ways to avoid infertility conditions are

1. Vitamin D Supplementation
2. L-arginine Supplementation
3. Abdominal Massage
4. Stress Reduction
